KDB is one of only a handful of self-supporting classical music stations in the United States. Being market #200, Santa Barbara is one of the smallest to have its own classical music station. KDB's popularity is due in part to its programming and in part to its symbiotic relationship with the community.
Rich in cultural assets, Santa Barbara is home to a large
number of performing arts organizations. In addition to its regular 24-hour-a-day
classical music programming, KDB broadcasts the concerts of many of these
groups.
