The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Ashland presents in The Angus Bowmer Theatre: Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors," Friedrich Durrenmatt's fierce comedy about getting rich and getting even called "The Visit," which will play now thru July 11, George S. Kaufman & Edna Ferber's great American comedy celebrating Theatre (with a capital T) called "The Royal Family," and the classic African American masterpiece by Lorraine Hansberry, "A Raisin in the Sun." The Festival presents in The New Theatre a hard-hitting hip-hop journey of dizzying verbal virtuosity by Suzan-Lori Parks called "Topdog Underdog" which will play now thru June 25 and Shakespeare's "Henry VI, Part One." In The Elizabethan Theatre the Festival will present the following Shakespearean productions: "King Lear" beginning June 18, "Henry VI, Parts 2 & 3" beginning June 19, and "Much Ado about Nothing" beginning June 20. |
